Now tell me what was her record company thinking when they green lit this trash? Does she even have any higher-ups or did she simply press play on one of the pre programmed songs that keyboards came with and started singing? The lyrics and the music don’t even match up. Now, Ms Williams is saying she did it to raise awareness for women’s health and that she doesn’t condone this behavior, nor is she promoting it. According to Ms Williams, “young women across the country get intoxicated and have unprotected sex. That’s a fact. I recorded the song to bring attention to this frighteningly prevalent activity. It is absurd to infer or suggest that I am condoning this behavior.”
Basically, this ‘character’ she is performing in the song and in the video gets wasted, blacks out (maybe from being drugged), and has sex with a stranger (who may have drugged her). Although she claims to not remember anything (except rolling over), she’d tap that again because the “sex was spectacular.”
Excuse me? Ms Williams definitely brought attention to “a serious womens health and safety issue,” but this “character” doesn’t seem to be upset by the behavior, nor does she seem to suffer any consequences or learn anything, because oh yeah the sex was so spectacular! Perhaps if there is a follow-up video of why women shouldn’t drink in excess, go home with strangers, how horrible it is to be drugged and raped (which is what she implies), and to always use a condom (which is questioned in this song), then the ‘message’ would make more sense. Until then, the only message I’m getting is “don’t worry if you black out, are maybe drugged, and thus raped, if the sex is spectacular it’s all okay!”
